Happy New Year!! It's been WAY TOO long since I've posted anything and I'm sorry to be gone for so long. We went to Florida for Thanksgiving to spend time with family and then for a really long camping trip over Christmas! I'm super refreshed and so ready to get back into things.
To begin with, while we were away during Thanksgiving, I was notified that I passed the Level 1 final project for the AECP (Altenew Educator Certification Program)!!! So I can now proudly share this badge belwo. Time to move ahead and work through Level 2 - so you should begin to see posts from me sharing the work that I'm doing as I learn through those courses.
Additionally, while I was away, I spent a good amount of time considering what I want to do here in this blog and what I want to do on YouTube. I've mentioned before that I love all sorts of things "paper" and the organic feel and nature of it. I love the way we can use it in the creation of other beautiful things. However, I've been stumbling around looking at all the other Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube posts of similar things out there and feel like I just get stuck! Maybe you feel that way too from time to time. I've come to realize that what I really need to do is be me - not try to copy others, not try to get it "all together" and feel like I'm some sort of expert at what I'm doing.
The name of this site and of my business is Faithful Hands Creations. That's on purpose because I know that I don't do this on my own. I need to remain faithful to the One that guides and inspires me. I plan to be more honest about that moving forward. One of my favorite verses of Scripture is from 2 Ezra 7:10 "For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the Lord and do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel." The components of that which always stand out to me are Learn, Do, Teach. It doesn't mean wait until you learn everything, then live it/do it, then teach it... to me it's very fluid. As we learn we begin to do, and as we do we are able to model - to "teach" others.
To my point above, I don't have to wait until I have it all together to "teach". This is a journey... and I want to share it with you. If it's helpful or inspiring, that's great. If not, that's ok too... the bottom line is that it's my journey and I need to go where it takes me. I plan to be authentic and share the ups/downs - what works/what doesn't - the rough and in between.
I've never done this before, but I've selected a Word of the Year. It may seem pretty generic... but I'm excited to see where it takes me and how I'm able to incorporate it in what I do this year. The word is - JOURNEY.
I'm excited for 2022 and the path ahead!
Peace be with you all!
